Brazo Sign Co. Helps Remove KHOU’s Iconic Letters from Allen Parkway Tower
On February 23, 2018, Brazo Sign Co. removed the iconic KHOU letters from the Allen Parkway tower in Houston. The letters, which had long served as a downtown landmark, were taken down after Hurricane Harvey forced the evacuation of the studios on Allen Parkway. These famous letters had graced the Houston skyline for nearly 50 years, predating the city’s transformation into the nation’s fourth largest metropolitan area.
McEldoon, President and General Manager of KHOU, said, “It will certainly change the landscape and the whole skyline as you drive into the city from today forward.”
Don’t worry though, KHOU tells us that you’ll see the six-foot letters again.
“We are going to incorporate them, somehow, into our new building. I’m not exactly sure how that’s going to look at this point,” said McEldoon.
