Directories kind of fall in line with the online portion of this article, but I felt it needed its own segment since its so easy and effective. If you don’t know what an online directory is, look at google maps and search for your business. If you find it, you have a business directory with Google, if not, then it’s time to get marketing. These directories are very powerful. You’d think that Google would be the only one that you need, but this isn’t true. Millions of users are still using other directories like Yahoo Local, Bing Places, Yelp etc.
Your business listing may already be on these sites, but it’s still a good idea to try and claim the listing yourself. Most of the time the information is wrong, and it also allows you to upload photos.
